Context

The visible result was a set of cleanly integrated displays, audio, surveillance, and controls. Behind it sat the less visible work: cable routes, terminations, network equipment, power, and a central rack that made the systems serviceable.

The work

This kind of installation crosses several trades. It requires planning where equipment will live, pulling and terminating cable before finishes close the walls, mounting devices accurately, configuring the network, and tracing problems when one part of the system does not behave as expected.

What I took from it

Good systems disappear into the finished room, but they should never be inaccessible. The rack, labels, cable paths, and service clearances matter as much as the visible hardware because someone will eventually need to understand and repair the system.
